Podcast Strategy

We concepted and produced MultiChoice’s Podcast series. Hosted by Sipho Ngwenya, MultiTalks became a platform for leading voices across sport, entertainment, and leadership – a new format for brand-driven thought leadership.

Content platform development

writersbloc develops podcasts as part of a broader communication system.

The work starts before recording and focuses on what the platform needs to say, who it needs to reach, and how it should show up over time.

Across projects, this has included building and producing formats such as MultiChoice’s MultiTalks, as well as podcast-led content ecosystems developed to support ongoing public conversation and brand positioning.

The challenge

Many podcasts launch with intent but lose momentum. Content lacks structure, output becomes inconsistent and distribution is treated as secondary. Without a clear role, the platform struggles to grow or hold attention.

Our role

We design and produce podcast platforms that align content, format and distribution from the outset.

The approach

Each podcast is built around a clear position and audience:

  • Defined the role of the podcast and the conversation it needed to lead
  • Developed formats that balance long-form depth with short-form reach
  • Extended each episode into multiple content outputs across platforms
  • Maintained consistency by adapting formats when production slowed
  • Built distribution into the process to meet audiences where they are active

The focus is not just on recording, but on sustaining the platform.

The impact

Over a 12-month period, this approach delivered consistent long-form output supported by short-form content that drove reach and engagement.

Performance improved alongside content consistency, reinforcing the role of structured output and distribution in growing audience attention.

The result is a podcast that functions as an ongoing platform rather than a once-off series.
